I
was given my first camera at the age of 7, and have been passionate
about taking pictures ever since. Prior to devoting all of my time
and energy to being a full-time mom, I was a kindergarten teacher.
I have always had a deep appreciation for the combination of
innocence and insightfulness that "new little people" possess. As
a new mom, I remember desperately wanting to capture each tender
moment, every goofy grin and coy gesture of my own two daughters;
I wanted to preserve those giggles and glances forever. I am
now fortunate to be able to blend two of my greatest passions: taking
treasured photographs, and working with young children. My
business also allows me to be at home with my daughters while they are
still small, for which I am grateful.
In creating "Haley Barber Photography," my goal
was to collaborate
with my clients in order to capture moments and turn them into photographs you
will treasure and adore. You will receive ALL of the photos (rather than having
to choose just one or two "favorites," and then end up paying much more
than expected for a package of only those shots). I give you
the freedom to have as many copies made, in as many sizes as
you wish. I keep things simple and affordable.
I have always loved the
timeless simplicity of black and white photography, and believe that
facial expressions and emotions seem to be enhanced without the
distraction of color. I prefer to use natural window
lighting, as it gives a softness to my photographs. I enjoy
color-tinting black and white photos to give them a unique look. I
love to capture naturally playful or loving interactions between parents
and their children. To keep busy toddlers and children interested
and happy, I have found that setting up a fun scenario (such as a tea
party or a wagon ride) and photographing genuine reactions is most
rewarding.
I
feel honored to be given the opportunity to capture and preserve the
precious moments of your life; the amazingly magical state of pregnancy,
the essence of your child as he/she evolves through the many
stages of childhood, and the tender and playful moments you share as a
family.
